These terms cover your use of BioWellix. They are short and written in plain English on purpose. The most important one is the first: this is a publication, not a medical service.

By using BioWellix you accept these terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Medical Disclaimer. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.
What BioWellix is
BioWellix is an independent health publication. It provides general information for education, supported by advertising. It is free to read and requires no account.
Who may use it
The site is written for adults. You must be at least 16 to subscribe to the newsletter, or older if that is the age of digital consent where you live.
How you may use it
Read anything, quote us with credit, and share links freely. That is what the site is for.
Please do not:
- Republish whole articles, or substantial parts of them, without written permission.
- Scrape the site in bulk, or use automated tools that place an unreasonable load on it.
- Use the content to train machine learning models without written permission.
- Remove or obscure bylines, reviewer credits, citations or disclaimers when quoting.
- Present our content as your own, or as medical advice from a clinician.
- Interfere with the site's operation, security or advertising, or attempt to gain access to systems you are not entitled to reach.
Who owns the content
The articles, images, calculators, design and code are owned by the operator of BioWellix or used under licence, and are protected by copyright. Quoting a short passage with a link back is fine. Anything more needs permission — ask, and the answer is often yes.
Cited studies, guidelines and third-party material belong to their own authors and publishers.
The newsletter
Subscribing is optional and free. You can unsubscribe from any email or by writing to us, and we will stop. What we do with your address is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Adverts and outside links
This site carries advertising, which pays for it. Adverts are selected automatically by Google, not chosen or vetted by us, and their appearance here is not an endorsement. Anything you buy from an advertiser is a matter between you and them.
We link to outside sites, mainly research and health bodies, so you can check our sources. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.
Availability and changes
We may change, correct, withdraw or update any part of the site at any time. Health content in particular is revised as evidence changes. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available or free of errors, and we may suspend access to anyone who breaks these terms.
No warranties
The site is provided as it is. We work hard to be accurate — citing sources and having clinicians review articles — but we do not warrant that the content is complete, current, or suitable for your situation, and we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties.
Limitation of liability
You use this site at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of the site, from reliance on its content, or from anything you buy from an advertiser.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Indemnity
If your misuse of the site causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.
